The West Houston Quilter's Guild is a non-profit organization founded in 1993
with the purpose of developing and nurturing appreciation for the art of
quilting and its history. Simply put, we are a group of people who love quilts!

Sarah Ruiz Quilts

Sarah is a quilter and aerospace engineer living in Houston, Texas.

She designs patterns with bright colors, bold lines, and graphic shapes that are easy to make but pack a visual punch.

​

Her lecture covers her creative jpourney from 2003 to present, including time for Q&A. She will share her early quilts and how she transititioned towards creating her own designs, show off both hits andbmisses, and talk about lessons she has learned along the way.

Tana Mueller

Tana is a crayon art enthusiast. Opening a new box of crayons, with their own unique colorful fresh smell, quickly motivates her to begin work on her next project.

Tana has been coloring and drawing since 3 years of age. She started drawing her own artwork designs in 1986, through "designs by tana", and began adding crayon techniques to quilt projects in 2005. Tana became a Licensed Designer for The Blank Quilting Corp. of New York, NY, in November 2013. To date she has created 30 colorful fabric collections and now has two basic lines of fabric. 

Tana is a native Texan and specializes in western, country and farmhouse designs related to childhood experiences or memories. She currently has over 1500 artwork line drawings that are or have been used for fabric collections, applique patterns of crayon art patterns.

Tana uses her crayon technique to create her artwork for her fabric lines.
